Overview

For Netflix's reality dating show "Let's Marry Harry," Chomp Studio delivered 50+ VFX shots removing production equipment and crew presence. Our goal was simple: maintain the show's immersion by eliminating any trace of cameras, sound gear, and production infrastructure so viewers never suspect they're watching a produced reality show.

Our goal was simple: maintain the show's immersion by eliminating any trace of cameras, sound gear, and production infrastructure so viewers never suspect they're watching a produced reality show.

The Challenge

Reality TV cleanup requires invisibility. We removed microphone packs, earwigs, production crew, camera equipment, shadows, vehicles, license plates, and anything else that would break the show's reality. Every removal had to match the surrounding footage perfectly in color, contrast, and texture while working with raw log footage and maintaining the look of the final color-graded image.

The Outcome

50+ VFX shots delivered seamlessly into the final broadcast. In cleanup work, invisibility is success. If viewers don't see the work, we did our job. Our removals blended perfectly without any visible artifacts, maintaining the show's narrative immersion.

Process Notes

Production sent us raw footage plates. We identified removal targets, executed VFX cleanup, and matched the black and white levels of the log footage precisely. Once cleaned, we delivered the plates back to the studio for color correction and final integration into the edit.
